The Secret to Success...PART II

All right... Assalamualaikum,

So, we've done with the first part of dissecting this book.. haha

In the 1st part, we've learned the first principle that Eric brought up, which was...

"Don't make a habit out of choosing what feels good over what's actually good for you."

Thus...

Today's entry will be on his 2nd and 3rd principle that emphasised on changing yourself.

So, let's get on with this...

Introducing.......

Principle 2 :

"Avoid being your own enemy. What's holding you back?
You - Not anyone else."

&

Principle 3 :

"You can change environments, but until you change yourself nothing else will ever change."

Both of these principles are closely related. So I'm gonna elaborate it in one go.

Yup, I know... There WILL ALWAYS BE external factors that is contributing into why it is so hard to move against the negative 'aura' that pulls you to go against what you want.

BUT

SOMETIMES....

I THINK MOST OF THE TIME...

It's about yourself.

YOU are your BIGGEST enemy.

USUALLY...

We often try to correct the surrounding. To find the best 'external factors'. The best this and that..bla bla blaa~

When in fact, we don't really want to do something about our problem.

We don't really want to change. We KIND OF want to change.

For example, people who don't really want to work out or exercise...

No matter how many gym facilities you put at home...

If he DOESN'T WANT TO WORK OUT, then he WON'T WORKOUT.

As simple as that.

Another example... in terms of studying.

Often we hear that, some cases, students studying at local universities are more successful than students studying overseas (Europe, US, Australia, Japan, etc).

Not surprising to see local students getting 1st class honours, while those studying overseas just a normal degree graduates.. Worst - case scenario, failing studies.

(wuuuu... that's sad) T.T

BUT... For the overseas students. What could've went wrong?

I'm in the top 5 university in Australia...
I've got the best lecturers in my studies...
I've access to FAR better facilities...

but.. why am I failing?

Why I couldn't compete with local students?

Why?

So many Why's for only ONE answer...

YOU DON'T WANT TO STUDY... that's the answer.

You went abroad for the sake of enjoying life..

Whereas...

Those studying at local uni is totally about studying.

You can ALWAYS get the best facilities, etc.. but until you DO YOUR PART, it won't change a single thing about yourself.

The important thing is...

"FOCUS ON CHANGING YOUR SELF BEFORE CHANGING YOUR ENVIRONMENT."

Some people might ask..

Isn't changing you surrounding important as well???

Yes it is...

PROVIDED THAT..... you have decided and established your motivation to change. :-)

So, right now... let's go back into history.

We travel through time...

About 1400 years ago...

Well... they say such theory or principles already existed before this dude came up with this book.

You're asking me where???

Hmm.... I'm not sure. Try to look in the Qur'an.

BUT

  Which chapter???

Try Al-Fatihah...

   Nope... couldn't find it.

How about Yaasin?

    Nothing really describes it.

Oooo... how about Al-Rad?

   BINGO! Allah said...

"...Indeed Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves."

I'll see you guys in the next entry.

*hope this helps.. ^^
